Nick Blackwood is the founder and owner of Blackwood Management and Director of the Blackwood Tennis Academy. Nick has more than 20 years of experience in the tennis industry coaching juniors and adults in various county leagues. His combination of passion, experience and expertise drives the Blackwood Tennis Academy to produce seamless results.
His prior work includes being the brainchild behind the Arizona and Florida Blackwood Tennis Academies, as well as, responsible for the success of The Breakers Palm Beach and Breakers West Country Club juniors’ programs. In addition, Nick’s experience includes coaching on the ITF Junior Circuit, travelling the ATP World Tour with Andrei Pavel and the WTA Tour with Nicole Melichar.
Experience with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and ITF includes coaching the Florida and Southwest Section, extensive coaching on the Pro Circuit and serving as Tournament Director for the $50,000 Women’s Pro Circuit, Sectional and National events.
His accolades include a three-time nomination as junior coach of the year in the USTA Florida Section, several players under his coaching winning USTA National tournaments and is a certified member of the United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR).
Nick’s hometown is Toronto, Canada. When he is not busy playing tennis he enjoys chess, cooking and travelling. His favorite quote is, “Give a person a fish and feed them for a day, teach a person to fish and feed them for life.”
